Lebanon City Council Guiding Principles

  1. All actions and policies of the government of the City of Lebanon shall, first and foremost, benefit the current residents of the City of Lebanon.

  2. City decisions shall be guided by Lebanon's Principles for a Sustainable Community and by the current Lebanon Master Plan.

  3. The City shall develop and maintain excellent planning capabilities. 

  4. The City shall ensure that the safety of the public is maintained in a prudent manner.

  5. The City shall act predictably and transparently, shall be accountable for its actions, and shall regularly re-evaluate its policies and actions.

  6. The City shall make informed, evidence-based, data-driven decisions.

  7. The City Administration shall adequately inform the deliberation and discretion of the Council and of all municipal boards and committees.

  8. The City shall exercise fiscal responsibility and restraint, towards prudent long‐term stewardship of its resources.

  9. The City shall protect the natural environment of Lebanon and the character of our neighborhoods.
